The second Switzerland-wide Frauen*streik (women’s strike) will take place on June 14, 2019, to raise awareness of the continuing inequality between the sexes. Among other things, the national Frauen*streik calls for universities to be places of “emancipation and education, encouraging critical thinking and equality as well as consent, sexual diversity, and mutual respect”. Preparations for the strike on June 14, 2019, are already underway at various universities. The University of Basel now also has a group focused on the Frauen*streik.
