The avuba Co-Presidium represents the assistants, i.e., currently around 2,700 doctoral and 500 postdoctoral researchers as well as early career researchers at University of Basel.
The Co-Presidents 2026 will be elected at the avuba General Meeting 2025 for the duration of one year. The Co-Presidium is part of the avuba Board. If possible, it consists of one doctoral and one post-doctoral representative from different faculties. Balanced gender representation should be aimed for. The two Co-Presidents are each employed on a 20% basis. Their salary is consistent with the University of Basel Doc 2 tariff.
As an avuba Co-President you are responsible for implementing the decisions made by the Board and the annual General Meeting. The General Managers Amancaya and Patricia will support you in all administrative matters. As Co-President, you connect the Board with the General Managers (avuba's organization), and it is therefore your responsibility to monitor the Co-Managers' activities who are subordinated to the entire Board. Good command of German (by at least one person in the co-presidency) is required.
