Would you like to get involved in university self-governance and advocate for the interests of academic assistants?
The Senate consists of the Rectorate, the Deans and the representatives of the Groups. It takes a position on university-wide issues, deals with strategic projects and usually meets three times a semester. The Senate’s meeting take place in German. The assistant’s representative in the Senate is ex-officio members of the avuba board (the university's assistant’s association) on behalf of the assistants of the respective Faculty. The avuba board meets approximately twice per semester and regularly discusses current business between meetings. The avuba board meetings are held in English if there is a member of the avuba board who wishes so.
Open positions:
To take up the position, you must have basic knowledge of German. In addition, you must be enrolled as a doctoral candidate or employed as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Basel until at least the end of 2027.
