As a standing committee of the Senate, the Teaching Committee advises on matters related to teaching and academic programs and strengthens the participation of the faculties in university-wide decisions concerning undergraduate education. It promotes integrated and coordinated implementation processes for teaching-related matters across all faculties, facilitates the exchange of best practices among the faculties, develops university-wide standards for teaching and academic programs, and ensures the flow of information between the Rectorate and the faculties, as well as between Swiss and European bodies and the faculties.
The committee meets 2–3 times per semester for two hours, usually on a Wednesday at 8:15 a.m.
The meetings are held in German.
For questions about the committee’s work, please feel free to contact Gian-Luca Schmid, the current representative of the assistants on the Teaching Committee.
Anyone interested in serving on this committee until at least spring 2028 should send a brief email to Patricia (avuba@clutterunibas.ch) by October 31, 2026.
