Become a member
Defined in section § 22 of the Bylaws of the University of Basel of May 3, 2012 (in German only)
Doctoral students and postdocs automatically become members of avuba when they take on a job or matriculate at the University of Basel.
The current membership fee is 20 francs per semester.
Doctoral researchers in their first matriculated semester are exempt from avuba membership fees according to the § 4 of the avuba bylaws.
Resignation from membership

(Post-)Doctoral researchers who do not wish to be an avuba member are to inform the Rectorate. This needs to be communicated in writing, stating your registration number. By doing so, all avuba participation rights expire.
