Application and election
As mentioned in the agenda, you you can get actively involved in avuba and stand for election at the General Meeting:
avuba co-presidents 2026
The avuba co-presidents will be elected for a one-year term by the participating avuba members at the General Meeting. avuba co-presidents are working with a 20% workload and are remunerated in accordance with the University of Basel doc 2 tariff. The salary can be paid out as a fee. The co-presidium is part of the avuba executive board and ideally consists of one doctoral researcher and one postdoc from different faculties. Good German language skills are highly recommended, since most university documents are written in German and most meetings take place in German. For more information regarding the task as avuba co-president, you can read the job description (English link, German link). All candidates will get a chance to present themselves at the general assembly before the vote. The two people with the majority of votes will be elected as co-presidents for 2026. The current avuba co-president Tomás Sousa, doctoral researcher at Faculty of Natural Sciences, will stand for another year.
Additional avuba board member 2026
Anyone who would like to get actively involved with avuba can run for election as an additional member of the avuba board on 24 November 2025. According to the avuba bylaws (paragraph 8 and 9), this is a voluntary position and is unpaid like everybody else at the avuba executive board with the exception of the co-presidents.
For further questions, you can contact the current avuba co-presidents, your Faculty representative or the avuba administrative managers.
If you would like to stand for election, please write a short motivation e-mail to Patricia at avuba@clutterunibas.ch by 15 November 2025.
Best regards from your current avuba co-presidents,
Tomás and Antonia
