Background information

The “Reform of Employment and Working Conditions for Doctoral Researchers and Postdoctoral Researchers at the University of Basel” (Mittelbaureform) aims to address long-standing challenges faced by academic mid-level staff. It was launched in autumn 2024. In the first phase of the project, potential cost-neutral measures and their implementation were identified and compiled in a document called ‘Auslegeordnung’. This list was discussed by various university committees, after which faculties, interest groups and individuals were consulted.

Meeting agenda

Patricia Zweifel, project manager of the “Reform Doc/Postdoc” project, will give an overview of latest and upcoming steps. Up-to-date information on the project can also be found on the project’s intranet page (accessible to University of Basel employees only).
