The Rectorate has approved ten projects for the first phase of implementation of the Reform of Employment and Working Conditions for Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researchers.
At this lunch talk, Patricia Zweifel, project manager of the reform project, will present the Rectorate’s decisions and explain how the approved projects will be implemented.
avuba will then present its assessment of the decisions: While we welcome important improvements, we do not consider the approved projects sufficient to constitute a genuine reform of employment and working conditions. We will explain which structural issues remain unresolved and what further steps we consider necessary.
You can read avuba's statement on the decided 10 projects here.
Most importantly, we want to discuss this with you. What is still missing? What are your experiences in your day-to-day work? What should change in practice? Bring your questions, experiences and ideas and discuss them with the project management, avuba and other participants. Your input will also inform avuba’s further work on the topic.
All doctoral researchers, postdoctoral researchers and other interested members of the university are warmly invited to attend.
Please register here whether you plan to attend in person or via Zoom.
Participants joining online will receive the Zoom link shortly before the event. During the session, online participants are welcome to submit their questions via the Zoom chat. A member of the avuba team will relay these questions during the discussion so they can be addressed together with the questions from the audience in the hall.
More information about the project is available on the University of Basel’s intranet for all university employees.
